Our favorite little puppy, Kona, died on a Thursday morning. It was heartbreaking and devastating, especially for these four ladies. We all sobbed right along side grandma, grandpa, and uncle Zach. I've been anti dog for my entire life. I don't need more messes and I don't need another baby to take care of! But when this happened, I KNEW we had to do this for our girls. So I searched and searched and put Clint to work finding her. Clint brought her home from work on Friday. We blindfolded the girls, and let me tell you. When they took their blindfolds off and saw her, it was the most magical moment I've ever had as a mom. They SCREAMED. Emery was so overwhelmed that she started crying and couldn't talk. She was beyond happy. Emery immediately shouted, "we need to name her Rosie!"--and everyone agreed it was the perfect name for her. She is half German shepherd and half pit bull, and we love her so much. She spends a lot of time in her kennel because we are kennel training her, but when she is out she is spoiled rotten with attention. We give her lots of baths and spend lots of time cuddling her. She was six weeks when we bought her and is now 9 weeks, and is still very much a puppy. She is learning slowly and loves to pee everywhere and chew everything. She caught my lip one night on a potty run and gave me a nasty mark for a few weeks. I've been surprised at how easily the transition has been on me though- I thought I would die having a messy dog in my house, but I love her so much that it doesn't bother me too much.
