9 months

When Sage was nine months old, I was pregnant with Charlotte.  Emery is 9 months old now, and I'm very happy to report that I am not pregnant.  Hurray!  I absolutely want more babies, but for now I'm pretty content to snuggle on this little lady that I am so obsessed with.  She is the happiest, easiest, sweetest most snuggly baby ever.  I really wish I could freeze time right now.  At nine months, she

has four top teeth, two bottom
started army crawling and is into EVERYTHING!
is never super hungry in the morning.  Wants her bottle then is set till lunch.
loves baby food, especially fruits, sweet potatoes and this brocoli/spinach/cauliflower mix I make.  HATES peas and green beans
has started eating more table foods.  blueberries, cheerios, toddler crackers, etc.
nowhere near pulling herself up on things yet
sleeps like a maniac still.  at least 14 hours at night and usually a 4 hour nap in the middle of the day.

Week

Family Home Evening treat at Water-n-Ice.  NO, I did not have any.  I am almost done with no sweets thank heavens.  It's been just over 2 months and I have not cheated once!  Three more weeks to go.

Sage and her friend Hailey at school

Sunday evening activity almost EVERY Sunday.  Only this time, I sat back and watched while daddy got in on the action.
The girls have been learning about chores lately.  After they get dressed they have to empty the dishwasher if it needs it or help me vacuum on certain days.  The vacuuming might have to wait a few more years before they can do it on their own.  They can't push it yet or hold the handle up, but they are learning.

Charlotte's Birthday

Sassy-pants turned three last week.  Whew!  Too fast.  I had her pegged for a Dora-themed party but thank heavens she asked for a princess party instead.  We kept it small--well--as small as it can be when it's a "family" party and you have a huge family.  We swam and ate yummy food at the Overton's.  Charly had a hard time warming up to the idea of the party at first but eventually was loving it.  I'm so glad we have family and friends close by that helped us celebrate her big day.

Clint and I blew up balloons till we passed out the night before her birthday and of course she couldn't have cared less.  Oh, and these streamers?  Let's just say they were more scared than excited.

I think her favorite gift was her rapunzel jammies from her bff Clair bear.  She immediately put them on to pose.

and as per usual, Shari came through with the fabulous birthday cake!

Pre-School

Sage started preschool on Monday.  Clint and I really debated about whether or not to send her this year just because we don't need another monthly expense (who does?), but in the end we worked a deal with her teacher and I'm so glad we did.  She cried pretty hard the first two days and has been exhausted from her long 2 1/2 hour class twice a week (haha!) so I think it's a good intro to kindergarten.  We carpool with her little friend from church and it's fantastic because I take Sage and her pal Hailee at noon, come home and get Charlotte and Emery down for naps and get my work done until Sage gets brought home at 2:30.  2 1/2 hours people!  Twice a week.  Of quiet.  It's pretty amazing.  Most of all, I LOVE when she comes home so excited to see me and tell me about her class.  We sit on the couch together while she tells me what she learned and what they did and then we read stories together for ten minutes while she has a snack.  Usually by that time Charlotte is waking up and will either read stories with us or just beg for a "show".  I love that one-on-one time I get with Sage.   I sometimes feel like she gets treated a little unfairly because she's the oldest.  I tend to put up with less from her and it's not right.  So any time I get to be with just her, I love.  She is bursting with personality lately.  She is our little entertainer.  She will dance for anyone and everyone whether you want her to or not.  She is always asking if I want to see her ballerina moves or see how far she can jump or if I want to hear her sing a special song.  The other day she was watching the Olympics with Clint and one of the running events came on.  She said, "Dad!!!  Look!  Those guys are made of chocolate!!"  (referring to the African American runners)  We about died laughing.  She is the best big sister.  Charlotte is having a hard time sharing and coming to agreements on what tv shows to watch, what books to read, etc.  Sage is always so eager to please and will let Charlotte choose over and over again just to keep the peace.  It's amazing.  She is reeeeeeeeal sensitive.  In good ways and bad ways.  She has an active imagination and is always coming up with very strange things to say or sing.  She and Charlotte have imaginary friends that they carry with them--usually a pet lion or mermaid or animal of some sort.  I'm already starting to have anxiety about sending her off to kindergarten next year.  It freaks me out.  I love my big preschooler so much.

And on Sage's first day of school, little Miss C and I had some great one-on-one playing time, too.  This little girls is FULL of SASS!

week

little lady loves to play in my old makeup

Sunday's are rough!  Early mornings, late church and no nap.  Poor kid.

self portraits are amazing.
Random things from our week.  Had date night--went to the temple and had dinner at On The Border.  Ate my body weight in chips, guacamole and enchiladas.  Remember when I used to hate Mexican food?  Weird.  Had a slow week at work and enjoyed being a little lazy.  Hurt my shoulder at the gym after a hard workout and am praying it heals fast.  Dustin broke his arm.  Mom and dad got in second car accident of the month.  Nick got transferred to the Amazon!  Miss that boy lots.  My house is crawling with bugs.  And my A/C bill is OUT OF CONTROL.  Sage started school today, but that's a post all on it's own.  :)

Strawberry

We were invited to go camping with a fun group of friend this past weekend up in Strawberry.  We went last year and it was so fun to go again with the same group and hang out.  The girls all did so great.  I was worried Em wouldn't sleep well but she was a champ and slept all night and took great naps.  I didn't take many pictures this year, but we did lots of lounging, eating and playing awesome games.  I was teased mercilessly for one thing or another, and Clint bruised all the other ladies there during our "Do You Love Your Neighbor" game.  Good times, good times.

Charlie and her BFF Claire Bear!

Rain!

Had a few rainy days last week and pretty much forced the girls to go play in the mud.  They were not interested in getting themselves dirty and pranced around for a few minutes poking their toes in the water before finally warming up to the idea that it was mommy approved to actually get dirty.  Love my girly-girls!
