Sage is SEVEN!

Sage's birthday this year fell on a Wednesday.  She requested we take a walk before school and eat at IHOP for dinner.  Easy!  We did that and then celebrated with grandma and grandpa O on Easter Sunday.  We didn't do a party this year and instead she chose two friends to go with her on Friday night to get yogurt and play at the park.

Not sure how my baby is seven.  I've said it before, but Sage is the best little gal.  She is so sweet and sensitive and HAPPY.  She is always happy!!  She loves to dance and sing and bop around all day long.  She is quick to do what is asked of her and rarely complains.  She is the world's slowest eater.  She loses her focus easily and gets sidetracked a lot.  Hopefully more at home than at school!  I've volunteered in her class almost every week this year and I've been able observe lots just by watching.  She is so concerned with other people's needs and always wants everything to be fair for everyone.  She never wants someone to have their feelings hurt or feel left out.  She is a hard worker but easily distracted by other people.  Her sweet teacher has to remind her often to keep working.  She won't be talking to other people or anything, she's just listening to other kids' conversations.  We're working on it.  She is the best big sister and such a great helper.  I have this horrible tendency to be too hard on Sage.  I hate it and am trying to so hard to let her be seven and make mistakes.  She is such a blessing to me and I am so grateful I get to be her mom.  We love our sweet little Sage so much!

{EASTER}

Since EASTER this year fell on Conference Sunday, we spent lots of it in our tent together, which was awesome.  I love that tradition of ours.  We started our day with our annual treasure hunt to find the baskets.  After they went through their baskets, we had pancakes and eggs for breakfast while watching conference.  After the first session we went to my folks house for a big lunch and to let the cousins have an egg hunt together.  They love this so much.  Clint and I came home after to let Em and Ivy nap, while Sage and Charlotte stayed and played at grandma's house.  We watched the second session at home (watched/dozed!) and then grabbed the girls and headed to Clint's folks for dinner and another egg hunt.  I LOVE having so much of our family so close.  Both of our parents live within ten minutes of us and it really is such a blessing.

At the OVERTON'S

{EGGS}

I told myself it would be so fun to paint....and dye....and do all sorts of crafty things with our eggs this year.  That was really stupid.  Yes, the girls had fun so it was worth it, but after like six hours of a major mess I was over it.  These girls are super cute though so that makes up for all of it plus some.

Ivy was so fun doing this.  Every time we pulled an egg out of the dye, she would get so excited and say "Ooooohhhhh, Ahhhhhhh".  We were all totally entertained by her.

Happenings

 More sickness from this kid, and lots of burying herself in my legs allllll day.

When I'm lazy and let her feed herself.
And then it backfires big time.

Our town opened a car wash and offered free washes for two weeks.
So I got several free washes AND free entertainment.
Why is it so funny to watch my kids cry like this?

Prepping our EASTER baskets with daddy.
Crossing our fingers that the grass grows in time since we are late getting it planted.

 Sage snapped several pics of Ivy trying to beat me up while I was trying so hard to catch some zzzzz's.

Got to chaperone a field trip to the Desert Botanical Gardens with my favorite kindergartner.
Charlotte and I had so much fun, despite her being terrified of the butterflies.

Our Conference tent!  We sure enjoyed watching two days worth of awesome talks from our prophet and apostles.  The girls all slept in the tent Saturday night and we vegged Sunday morning before the EASTER festivities started.

We have our own style around here.
