this little lady makes me so happy.
she's rolling from back to tummy NON STOP.
she's in love with her toy keys and loves to make noise with them.
she loves her fingers and pacifier.
she loves to talk to me at night right before bed and have me tickle her face.  she just beams at me when we do this.
And have to throw this in here.  Sage in the exact dress Em is wearing.  I think Em is a mini-Sage.  I say mini because she's three lbs lighter than Sage was at 4 months.

terrible two's

can you spot her here?  i think i got at least 1/4 mile away before finally giving in, turning around and hauling her up over my shoulders to carry her back home.

little C has been doing loooooots of screaming lately.  lots of throwing herself on the ground.  lots of whining when she doesn't get her way.  lots of hitting her sister when she doesn't get her way.  lots of ignoring mom.  lots of ignoring dad.  spending lots of time in time out.  we may have been kicked out of the library due to her screams.  the old "you better follow me or I'm leaving you here" trick does not work with this child.  she could care less how far away you get or how long she is left alone somewhere.  she is stubborn as all get out and i am at my WITS END with her.  oh.  and when she screams, she barfs.  those are barf chunks on her shirt above.  and she's not sick people.  she just gags when she screams and out it comes.  in today's case, i was cradling her like a baby at the time of her fit and the throw up projected straight into my face.  it was fantastic and landed her naked in the kitchen sink.

Reason #1,597

of why I love Clint:

I bought this bag.
It cost a pretty penny or two.
I was nervous for him to see it.
When he finally did, this is the gist of how our convo went:

Clint:  I like your bag.
Me:  Ya?  Me too.
Clint:  How much was it?
Me:  You don't want to know.
Clint:  How much was your first diaper bag?
Me:  70 bucks.
Clint:  Well, you've used that exact same bag for the past four years so I'd say you get your moneys worth out of them and I'd rather you buy a nice one that you really like than 15 purses a year like most girls.
Me:  That's why I love you.

Rice Cereal

We attempted giving little Em some rice cereal this afternoon.  It did not go well.  I'm not surprised; neither Sage nor Charlotte liked rice cereal at all either.  I'll give it a few more shots in a week or two, but for now she just DOES NOT LIKE IT.  Sage and Charlotte wanted to watch of course, and they were SO worried about her!  When she cried, they both cried too.  I love their facial expressions in this picture.  The look so distraught!  Man.  I love my girls.

Sundays

Are my absolute favorite day of the week.
We lounge until church (well....lounge as in take our time getting ready instead of rushing to get out the door like every other morning)
We love church
We (as in all five of us) take fantastic TWO hour naps
We eat yummy dinners at other people's houses (usually mom 1 or mom 2's house)
We snuggle in bed and go to sleep early

They make the long weeks worth it.

Four Months!

My little Em is four months old.  Stop it!  I don't like that.  I want to freeze time and keep my girls this age forever.  I am LOVING life with them right now.  We took a little trip to the doc on Friday for two reasons. 1. Well check, and 2. find out what the crap has been wrong with Charlotte for the past month.  (yes, I'm the mom who waits and waits before going to the doc because "it's just a cold....it will work its way out.)

It's always a treat with all three kids by myself at the doc.  Friday was no exception.  Em was fantastic, as usual.  She's a petite little thing but growing well and healthy.
Sage and Charlotte were real happy to be there.  They (esp C) did NOT appreciate our pediatrician's poking and prodding.  Like, at all.  Note the pictures of her.  She was not a happy camper.  And Sage felt it appropriate to show the doc her new special snot talent.  I'm a proud momma!  We left $197 poorer and with a script for Charlotte who has a sinus infection.  She weighed in at 25 lbs 10 oz, the 10%.  Luckily he said it will be enough to last both girls a full two weeks so they can both get better.  Phew!  I'm SICK of SICK kids!

This week, we.....

perfected snot bubbles:
 found thumbs:
 played outside:

posed with our backpack:
helped Clint make it through week one of Crossfit by being cheerleaders for FHE on Monday:
  smiled non stop:
and made mommy's heart melt.  Like a thousand times a day.

WICKED!

Dinner at Chili's
WICKED at Gammage
Hot date who didn't complain once
Late night and early morning but worth it for a fantastic show!

iphone catch up

Um, ya.  I take lots of pics with my phone.  And hardly ever put them on my computer.  So here's a little taste.
Wait, I have two other kids besides my baby?  Whoops.
Cookie time!  I LOVE the smiles on their faces here.  And I LOVE that they each are holding up their doll of the day to smile for the camera.

Mom, I can eat my oatmeal with my back pack on.  Yes I can.  Watch me.
 LOVE snuggling on my baby.

 Kite weather!
Pic 1:  daddy flying kite
Pic 2:  girls' attempt on their own....notice their surprised/shocked expressions as they watch kite fly away
Pic 3:  chasing after lost kite
Pic 4:  still chasing after lost kite.  good thing it was $3.
The past few days Em has started to see and reach for toys.  It is amazing to me to see how she is changing and growing every day.
Sage has declared once and for all that she is "WAY too big for that high chair".  So Em has been putting it to good use.

"Quiet Time"

 Dear Sage,
I love that you try so hard to lay on mommy's bed and read your books and keep your eyes open no matter how tired you are.  I especially love that when you finally give in, your books are stacked neatly on top of each other.  I love that you're wearing your slap bracelet, that your bunny is tucked into your side, and that your feet are sticking out of your blanket.  Stop growing so big so fast.  I love you.
Love,
Mommy
