Sleeping Beauties

 Sunday naps are the BEST.

Mommy/Daughter Date

Sage and I went out on a little date this past weekend.  We had our toes painted and she had her nails painted at a little nail salon.  She was pretty terrified the whole time.  And I was pretty disappointed in their service.  The fella who painted her nails was nice enough, but I felt like they should have made her a little more comfortable and made a bigger deal of it than they did.  At least put her in a comfy chair?  But maybe that's just me being an over-anxious mom.  She didn't say one word or crack one smile the whole time and on the way out to the car she said next time she just wanted to paint them at home like we usually do.  Girl after my own heart.  After we had our nails done we stopped for some frozen yogurt and then found lollipops at the store.  She chose exactly what she wanted to do and I felt like they were such sweet and easy requests.  I just love having one-on-one time with my kids.  Sage is the sweetest little gal.  The whole time we were out she talked about how much Charlotte would love to come next time and how we really should bring her something home so she wouldn't be sad.  She saved half her yogurt and picked out a sucker for her and was so excited to bring them home for Charlotte after our date.  I love that while I was trying to focus only on her and make sure she was happy, all she was focusing on was making sure Charlotte was happy.  I LOVE my little big girl.

Main Squeeze

 Somehow Clint turned 34 and I forgot to mention it.  Apparently the more kids you have, the less you blog?  At least that's the case with me.  Anyways-we had a low key celebration this year.  Had a FEAST for dinner at his folks house and gave him a few gifts.  Clint is the best daddy and husband there is.  These ladies are so so lucky.
 And aside from his birthday, he will be pleased to know I've caught a few photos of him lately.
1: he falls asleep within seconds of laying down and can sleep through ANY noise or distruption.
2: if VW Dig decides they need to confiscate the tablet they gave him a while ago, I'd be ok with that.  I loathe video games.
 First homework assignment!
Sage=super excited.
Mom=super scared/anxious/sad.
How is she old enough for this?
No, wait.
How am I old enough for this?!
 I pretty much have a LOVE/HATE relationship with this baby.  99% of the time I'm so obsessed with her I can't stand it.  And then there's that pesky 1% where I want to put duct tape over her mouth and lock her in her room.  I ADORE the way she adores her blanket.
love it when she falls asleep ten minutes from home and then refuses a nap all day.
check out that hair!

 No, she still won't walk.  15 months and counting and she REFUSES to take a step.  But she's got the bear walk down pat.  Girl can go so fast on all fours!

Park Days

 We are loving the weather lately.  Nice and sunny but crisp and cool.  Now let's just keep it like this for the next several months.

Valentine's Day

 A few weeks before Valentine's, I let the girls pick out little mailboxes at WalMart.  They both chose classy little princess ones that they decorated themselves.  They were ecstatic.  These were prized possessions and they tried to cram every favorite toy, doll, utensil, bow, etc into those mailboxes that they could.  Each night I would leave a little love letter or treat of some sort for them to find in the mornings.  Little things like nail polish, lip gloss, bracelets, suckers, etc.  They LOVED this and I did too. One night I felt a poke on my shoulder and turned around to find Charlotte perched on the side of my bed holding her lollipop from her mailbox.  It was 2:30AM.  She had turned all the lights on in the house and was so excited for her new treat.  It was so random.  I told her it was still night time, so she immediately hopped off my bed, turned lights off and put her lollipop back in her mailbox.  I almost died laughing!  Such a stinker.  I had big plans for actual Valentine's day--you know--fun breakfast with hearts and fluff.  Fun all-red dinner.  My plans all fizzled out quickly though.  Here's why:
 The girls were just having a rough morning.  Everything was sad and scary and just off.  So Charlotte had her cereal and Sage had her eggs and Emery had her oatmeal.  Ya.  We do three different breakfasts every day.  I pick my battles.  We did manage to make some yummy Peanut Butter M&M cookies:
 Sage had her Valentine party at school:
 Grandpa took the girls on their annual Valentine date:
(and they were so excited.  Jumping up and down excited.  I love how much they love their grandpa (s).)
 And although Clint didn't make it home from work until around 8 that night, he made my day with this sweet card:
Ha!  I seriously laughed so hard when I saw his note.  This is SO something Clint would do.  He got a kick out of me laughing at it and then showed me where the actual love letter was at.  And while he surprised me with a brand new CAMERA that I have been dying for and am so excited to learn how to use--what he wrote in his card meant way more to me and is something I will save for forever.
We don't usually do gifts for each other on Valentine's, so I was empty handed this year.  I packed him an all-red lunch for work and set out a few treats for him on his way to work, but just junky stuff.  I was kind of floored that he thought to buy me something.  Very unnecessary because we both think Valentine's day is just a way for Hallmark to make more money, but I must say that they romantic in me was THRILLED.

Oh baby!

Yes, that's a tiny little baby floating around in there.  I'm not totally sure what we are thinking, but it's a little late to change our minds now.  Sage turns five in a few months, so you can't really say 4 kids in 4 years.  Not really.  Baby is due September 1st.  It may sound like I'm not excited, but I am.  Very.  I love babies and I love having babies close together.  I love the way Sage and Charlotte play so well together and am glad little Emery will have a buddy close to her age.  She will be about 22 months when baby comes, so I think they will be great friends.  The girls are THRILLED.  Sage and Charlotte ask every day to "feel the baby in your tummy" and are so sweet and gentle rubbing my belly.  And YES.  There is quite a belly at only 11 weeks.  I kid you not--I took a test and the very next day I was showing.  Clint swears it's my subconscious but I know my body.  My babies just pop early.  I get pretty big right away and then stay that way till the end.  So far, I haven't been as sick as when I was with the other gals.  I've only thrown up a few days and although the nausea is constant, it's more bearable than before.  I am exhausted though.  Like, I can hardly keep my eyes open during the day.  It's so annoying.  And my RLS is already bad at night.  The second I lay down to sleep my legs feel like they need to run a marathon or sprints or something.  But it's all well worth it.  I'm anxious to find out if it's a boy or girl.  I'm kinda hoping for a sweet little man, but I will be happy no matter what.  Anyways--these were taken at 10 weeks to show Audrie the proof behind my complaints at being fat already.  Wow.
