{NEW} house!

Every month, for the past six months, I've hoarded pictures of my house.  I was scared to write about it or talk about it or do anything involving "it", until it was officially ours.  I kept thinking something would go wrong and/or we would realize it was too expensive for our budget and change our minds.  I didn't sleep for approximately six months.  Seriously!  I stressed a lot over this move.

When Clint decided this was the house we were getting, I fought him.  Hard.  I cried almost every day and night because I was so worried.  He was insistent, and determined.  He even went and put our names down to sign on the house without telling me.  For real!  I was a hot mess.  I cried several times in front of the sales lady, and embarrassed the crap out of all of us.  But whatever.

Now that we are here, and IN, and settled (for the most part), I am so content.  I'm sure we will still struggle to make our new payment and there will be days when I wonder what the crap we did, but I am CONTENT.  I'm sleeping.  Like, sleeping for 8 hours a night without waking up to pee or wander around or ANYTHING.  This hasn't happened to me in years.  I have struggled with insomnia for a very long time and it has been so hard for me to deal with.  It has been such a blessing for me to be able to sleep and feel rested when I wake up.

I LOVE my house.  Like, LOVE it!!!!  I am having so much fun planning little projects and making it ours.  More on that later.  For now, ....the progression.

 MAY 1, 2015
Break ground!
 MAY 20:  Foundation is poured
MAY 28:  Lumber dropped to begin framing
JUNE 2:  Framing begins
JULY 27:  Inside gets a make-over
AUGUST 3:  Outside gets stucco'ed
AUGUST 25:  I go crazy packing crap
(and throw in a table re-do)
SEPTEMBER 1:  It's official!  We sign papers early AM, have a very unhealthy lunch at In-N-Out to celebrate being homeowners, and then meet up with Maracay to get the keys.
At this point, I was ecstatic.  So was Clint.

Angel Way

So, this really happened!
We said good-bye to the sweet little home that kept us in close quarters for the past three years.  While I complained a time or two about the size of this place, it served its purpose and served it well.  We brought Ivy home here, we lost teeth here, we started school here, we made lots and lots of memories here.  I am so grateful for the friends we made while living here and for the lessons we learned.  I'm not sad to be leaving this house, but it most definitely holds fond memories for me.  So long, Angel Way!

August Wrap

Oh, right.  August is over.  Whoopsie.  Here's a quick recap:
Apparently this chick found my phone, turned on the camera, and took a few selfies while I was coaching.  What the what?!
Little C lost another tooth!  She's up to like...five?  now.  I think.  Sure.  Five.

And while daddy was out of town for one thing or another, we visited good ole Bosa.  THE best donuts ever made in the history of donuts.

{Charlotte} is SIX!

This beauty is six.  SIX!  My babies are getting so big so fast and while most days I barely survive being mom, when I go to bed at night I look at my sleeping babies and can't help but wish for time to slow down.  Way down.  I love these kids so much.
At six, Charlotte is
in first grade
swims like a fish
spends more time on her head than on her feet
constantly doing cartwheels and handstands
jump ropes non stop
an excellent reader
very sensitive
a perfectionist
a people pleaser
kind
extremely loving to her sisters

She requested a swimming party (again) this year, and seeing that her birthday generally  falls on the hottest day of the year--it works out well.  It was 114 degrees the day of her party so pretty much everyone that came spent the entire time in the pool.  Easy!  We had her little friends and their families over, along with her cousins.  We did BBQ works and cake.  When I asked what kind of cake she wanted this year, she requested a "really really good chocolate cake with a mermaid doing a handstand on it".  Grandma Shari always takes care of the cakes, thank heavens.  She pulled through!  It was a lot of work but she had an absolute blast, so well worth every second.  We sure love this little chick.
These four peeps are my whole world.
Plus their daddy.
It's possible we threw Ivy's birthday in the mix.  Barely.  She turns two this month so we added her name to the sign, and wa-la.
 Gifts this year included:
Strawberry shortcake loot from mom and dad
LeapPad 3 from grandma and grandpa Young
Heirloom jewelry box full of jewelry from grandma and grandpa Overton
games
barbies

Wait, What?

Yes, we switched.
So far, so good.
I feel much more calm about the change.
The uniforms, on the other hand?
My diva's are not happy.

First day of SCHOOL!

 School!
I'm always a nervous wreck when it's time to send my girls back to school.  Emotions run high!  I barely slept the night before their first day, but when I went to check on the girls they were snuggled up close in Sage's bed and snoring away.
Sage headed to second grade and Charlotte to first.
