February

Looks like I'll update once a month and clump everything we did in one long post.  Whatever works.

We've got loads of money invested in nail polish.  Our weekly mani/pedi's are a must.  Along with a gazillion band aids.
Lots of snuggles with these two during the day

Lots of park days, and Sage doing whatever it takes to match Ivy.

Frozen Yogurt dates just because we can.

These two girls are the sweetest little gals.  I thank my lucky stars they are mine every day.  They keep me grounded on days when their little sister (s) are pushing me past my breaking point.  I love them so much.  I especially love the stripes on stripes and accessories they pick out every day.

Emery going potty at church:
"Mom I need to poop."
Ok Emery, go poop.
"Do you need to poop?"
Nope, not right now.
"Whoa!  That poop splashed my butt!"
Uh-oh.
"One plop!"
Are you done?
"Nope.  Two plop!"
Now are you done?
"Hmmm.  Yep.  All done.  I have splashes all over my butt!"

My little Charlotte is going to be an Olympian.
In the jump rope event.

Little Ivy LOVES her grandma.  She sat and stared at her without blinking or moving for the longest time the other day.  I love this picture so much.

Her very first birthday party!  They had a bounce house and she about died of happiness.  She was so thrilled to be a "big girl" and go to a party like "Sagey-Charlotte".

It's hard to tell here, but on our walk one afternoon, Emery fell down and Ivy ran right up to her to kiss her better before continuing on.  Such a cutie.

Valentine's is a big to-do around here.  Not because I love it, but because the girls LOVE it.  We made our boxes basically like a month in advance.  The week leading up to the big day, they get "mail" in their boxes every morning.  Usually little love letters or cheap toys or candies.  It's the highlight of their day.  On Valentine's morning, we had our usual heart pancakes, simple little gifts, and the BEST love letters from daddy.  Valentine's weekend, they had their annual date with grandpa, but that's a post all of its own.
We all took turns being sick the entire month of February.  It was awful.  Mostly Clint, Emery and Ivy took the brunt of it.  Sage and Charlotte caught little colds but nothing too awful.  I somehow managed to stay healthy.  (maybe not mentally healthy, but whatever.)   They look happy and healthy sitting here at the doctors office, but it's all a rouse.

Clint went out of town for four days and we partied hard the entire time.  We hit up Bosa donuts, where Ivy had her first donut all of her own.  It was such a fun thing to watch!!

Lazy Sunday evenings are the BEST.

The rest of January

 January is over!
Quick recap:
hiking before school!  We walked out to the lot my parents are building on and decided to climb the little "hill" before heading home.  After many scary almost falls pushing the stroller to the top, I had to slide down on my butt while holding on to the stroller praying we didn't die on the way down.  It was a lot steeper than we thought.

Sage has been begging for months to get her hair cut.  She says she is too hot with all that hair, and although I love her hair long, I'm glad we cut it.  She is SO picky in the mornings with her hair.  She likes it done a certain way and if a hair is out of place, she freaks out.  It's so much easier with it short!  Plus, she's super cute either way.  So it's a win-win.

Date night at the office setting up his Christmas present.  Apparently this sandbox and his tractors are quite the stress-reliever.  Or something like that.
Two Christmases ago, Clint gave me an envelope that said I could get a plane ticket to fly home to Texas to see my friends.  And then a year passed and I never went.  Then another year passed and I never went.  So when I learned from my BFF that her sweet little baby growing in her belly has a nasty disease that might take him from her too soon, I decided to put that Christmas present to use.  I flew out on a Thursday night and came home Sunday.  I got to see Jalei-who I grew up with and was best friends with till 6th grade when we moved to Midlothian.  We went to lunch and I got to meet her cute little kiddos and steal lots of decorating ideas from her house.  Ash and I ate a TON of delicious food, watched tons of movies, walked along the Trinity river, took her boys to the park, visited our hometown and reminisced while eating  the world's best donuts and breakfast sandwiches from our old favorite pit-stop, peeked in the windows of our old high school, drove by my old house and learned that the current owners had turned it into the junkiest looking place with gnomes and statues everywhere, and basically caught up on life.  We didn't skip a beat and it was just like old times.  I feel so lucky to have such good friends.  It's nice knowing that no matter how much time passes between visits, we can always pick up right where we left off and will always be close.

Nursery!

This brown eyed beauty is somehow old enough for nursery now, which breaks my heart right in half.  I can't believe my last baby is in nursery already!  Time needs to stop RIGHT now.  She hates leaving my side (which I not-so-secretly love) so she cried pretty hard when I dropped her off at nursery.  This chick gets pretty much whatever she wants.  She is the pickiest eater ever and lives off of bread, yogurt, bananas, and granola bars.  She follows me around everywhere, including to the bathroom and shower.  She is obsessed with her little etch-a-sketch she got for Christmas and she will sit on the floor drawing on it for hours.  She loves to read books and is always looking for someone who will hold her and read to her.  She has yet to say a single word, and is seriously the quietest little thing ever.  She hardly makes a peep and I'm often checking the front door to make sure she hasn't escaped without my knowing it.  I can't imagine life without my sweet little Ivy in it.  She makes my heart so happy.

Jesus wants me for a SUNBEAM!

The world's sassiest three year old had her first day in "big girl primary" at church and was SO excited about it!  I didn't put two and two together until pretty much the week before, so we were a little behind in prepping her for the transition.  Going from nursery where you eat and play for two solid hours, to primary where you have to sit still in a chair and listen and NOT scratch people or yell at people---is a big adjustment.  I was terrified for her teachers and checked on her more than once that first afternoon.  But she did so well.  She walked right in, sat in her big girl chair, and never once looked back for me.  This girl bosses me around so bad and gets away with murder and is still somehow the sweetest little thing that just melts my heart.  We got her to finally pee on the pot and aside from one accident, she is fully potty trained and has done so well with it.  I guess before she just wasn't ready.
We sure love our little Sunbeam!

January

I LOVE this time of year!  The weather is perfect for playing outside all day.  So that's what we've been doing.  Lots of evenings spent in the backyard or at the park.
These two are obsessed with bubble baths in our tub.  It's not annoying at all.
